Entertainers For Hire

Welcome to the Pennsic.Net entertainment news page. One of the most notable changes in the War over the years has been the quality of entertainment. This goes for veteran performers and newcomers alike. There may be no written standard for entertainment quality but in the past two years the "bar" has been raised considerably!

Many entertainers who go to Pennsic War are doing so as professionals or semi-pro's... people who have been working their art for a long time and make a living at it. Some even rely on Pennsic earnings to pay for their journey and stay at War. This page is dedicated to these folks.

I've been gathering information on individuals and groups who perform at War and are looking for paid opportunities to play In Your Campsite. Imagine! Quality entertainment in your courtyard for an evening, in the middle of this wonderful dream of a vacation we call Pennsic War. Truly, heaven on earth.

Want to know where the parties are? Check out Pennsic Party Calendar.

Want to be listed here?

In order to be listed here you must be an individual or group available for hire at next Pennsic War. It's okay if you're not 100% certain about attending yet; this is just a forum for people to get in touch with you before War. There is no fee for a listing or applying for a listing.

The only requirement is that you must be a professional or semi-professional public entertainer. That is: you perform in front of a paying public and have a good reputation as an entertainer. What you charge or how you barter is between you and your patrons. Note: Henna painters, woad painters, hair braiders and any other personal service cannot be listed as public entertainment on this page.

Fill in the submission form below. It will be reviewed within 10 days and posted on this page if approved. If you have a picture to add to your listing, use the "Browse..." button to find it on your hard drive. WARNING! Submissions using ALL CAPS in any field will be gleefully deleted. No need to shout your greatness, we can "hear" you without CAPS!

Description Limits In the "Act description" field below, briefly describe what you have to offer. Please use the following guidelines when writing your description:

  • Be as "Year-independent" as possible. Your listing may be on this page for several years if you wish, so refrain from talking about anything you are doing "this" year or did "last" year. Such information will go out of date and we don't want you to look dated. *grin*
  • Don't list info on CD's, tapes or other merchandise.
  • Don't list info on other venues where you perform, either inside or outside of Pennsic
  • Do list things like: average performance time, usual number of members in your band or troupe, amount of space you need to perform, the musical instruments you feature, or genre of music or dance. If you are a dance troupe, it is definitely important to mention if your music is live or canned (eg. from a boombox).
